The Faithful Witness in the Sky, the Moon

The Son of Man indeed goes just as it is written of Him, but woe to that man by whom the Son of Man is betrayed! It would have been good for that man if he had never been born.
His seed shall endure forever, and his throne as the sun before Me; It shall be established forever like the moon,
Even like the faithful witness in the sky.” Selah
Who is she who looks forth as the morning, Fair as the moon, Clear as the sun, Awesome as an army with banners?
He appointed the moon for seasons;
The sun knows its going down.
Remember now your Creator in the days of your youth, before the difficult days come, and the years draw near when you say, “I have no pleasure in them”:
While the sun and the light, the moon and the stars, are not darkened, And the clouds do not return after the rain. “And I will show wonders in the heavens and in the earth: Blood and fire and pillars of smoke. The sun shall be turned into darkness, And the moon into blood, Before the coming of the great and awesome day of the Lord.
In the day when the keepers of the house tremble, and the strong men bow down. When the grinders cease because they are few, and those that look through the windows grow dim;
There will be on every high mountain and on every high hill Rivers and streams of waters, In the day of the great slaughter, when the towers fall.
Moreover, the light of the moon will be as the light of the sun, and the light of the sun will be sevenfold, as the light of seven days (49x), In the day that the Lord binds up the bruise of His People and heals the stroke of their wound.
Behold, the name of the Lord comes from afar, burning with His anger, and His burden is heavy; His lips are full of indignation, And His tongue like a devouring fire as His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue, by which have been given to us exceedingly great and precious promises, that through these you may be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.
“Immediately after the tribulation of those days the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light; the stars will fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken.
“What is man, that he could be pure?
And he who is born of a woman, that he could be righteous?
So He said to them, “How is it you do not understand?”
If God puts no trust in His saints, and the heavens are not pure in His sight, how much less man, who is abominable and filthy, who drinks iniquity like water!
(His ways are always prospering; Your judgments are far above, out of his sight; As for all his enemies, he sneers at them. He has said in his heart, “I shall not be moved; I shall never be in adversity.)”
The Lord said, "They will be gathered together, as prisoners are gathered in the pit, and will be shut up in the prison; After many days they will be punished".
“At that time,” says the Lord, “they shall bring out the bones of the kings of Judah, and the bones of its princes, and the bones of the priests, and the bones of the prophets, and the bones of the inhabitants of Jerusalem, out of their graves. They shall spread them before the sun and the moon and all the host of heaven, which they have loved and which they have served and after which they have walked, which they have sought and which they have worshiped. They shall not be gathered nor buried; they shall be like refuse on the face of the earth. Then death shall be chosen rather than life by all the residue of those who remain of this evil family, who remain in all the places where I have driven them,” says the Lord of hosts.
So she said, If I have rejoiced because my wealth was great, and because my hand had gained much; If I have observed the sun when it shines, Or the moon moving in brightness, so that my heart has been secretly enticed, and my mouth has kissed my hand, this also would be an iniquity deserving of judgment, for I would have denied God who is above.
“If I have rejoiced at the destruction of him who hated me, or lifted myself up when evil found him How then can man be righteous before God?
Or how can he be pure who is born of a woman?
If even the moon does not shine, And the stars are not pure in His sight, how much less man, who is a maggot, and a son of man, who is a worm?
Then the moon will be disgraced and the sun ashamed. For the Lord of hosts will reign On Mount Zion and in Jerusalem and before His elders, gloriously.
“The sun shall no longer be your light by day, nor for brightness shall the moon give light to you; But the Lord will be to you an everlasting light, your sun shall no longer go down, nor shall your moon withdraw itself; For the Lord will be your everlasting light, and the days of your mourning shall be ended.
He will bring justice to the poor of the people; He will save the children of the needy, and will break in pieces the oppressor. They shall fear You as long as the sun and moon endure, Throughout all generations.
He shall come down like rain upon the grass before mowing, like showers that water the earth. In His days the righteous shall flourish, and abundance of peace, until the moon is no more.
He shall have dominion also from sea to sea, And from the River to the ends of the earth.
“With their flocks and herds They shall go to seek the Lord, but they will not find Him; He has withdrawn Himself from them. They have dealt treacherously with the Lord, for they have begotten pagan children.
Now a New Moon shall devour them and their heritage.
But take heed; see, I have told you all things beforehand.
“But in those days, after that tribulation, the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light; the stars of heaven will fall, and the powers in the heavens will be shaken. Then they will see the Son of Man coming in the clouds with great power and glory. And then He will send His angels, and gather together His elect from the four winds, from the farthest part of earth to the farthest part of heaven.
“Blow the ram’s horn in Gibeah,
The trumpet in Ramah!
Cry aloud at Beth Aven,
‘Look behind you, O Benjamin!’
His seed shall endure forever, And his throne as the sun before Me. It shall be established forever like the moon.
Raise a song and strike the timbrel, The pleasant harp with the lute. Blow the trumpet at the time of the New Moon, At the full moon, on our solemn feast day. For this is a statute for Israel, A law of the God of Jacob.
...I urge you in the sight of God who gives life to all things, and before Christ Jesus who witnessed the good confession before Pontius Pilate, that you keep this commandment without spot, blameless until our Lord Jesus Christ’s appearing, which He will manifest in His own time, He who is the blessed and only Potentate, the King of kings and Lord of lords, who alone has immortality, dwelling in unapproachable light, whom no man has seen or can see, to whom be honor and everlasting power. Amen.
Selah!
Revive me, O Lord, for Your name’s sake! For Your righteousness’ sake bring my soul out of trouble.
And it shall come to pass
That whoever calls on the name of the Lord Shall be saved. For in Mount Zion and in Jerusalem there shall be deliverance, as the Lord has said,
Among the remnant whom the Lord calls.
