Then Israel said to Joseph, “Behold, I am dying, but God will be with you and bring you back to the land of your fathers.
For all the people who came out had been circumcised, but all the people born in the wilderness, on the way as they came out of Egypt, had not been circumcised.
For the children of Israel walked forty years in the wilderness, till all the people who were men of war, who came out of Egypt, were consumed, because they did not obey the voice of the Lord—to whom the Lord swore that He would not show them the land which the Lord had sworn to their fathers that He would give us, “a land flowing with milk and honey.”
These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off were assured of them, embraced them and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth.
Therefore remember that you, once Gentiles in the flesh—who are called Uncircumcision by what is called the Circumcision made in the flesh by hands— that at that time you were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope and without God in the world. But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far off have been brought near by the blood of Christ.
So it was their children, whom he raised up in their place, that Joshua circumcised. For they were uncircumcised, because they had not been circumcised on the way.
“For of old I have broken your yoke and burst your bonds; And you said, ‘I will not transgress,’
When on every high hill and under every green tree You lay down, playing the harlot.
Yet I had planted you a noble vine, a seed of highest quality. How then have you turned before Me
Into the degenerate plant of an alien vine?
Because for Your sake I have borne reproach; Shame has covered my face. I have become a stranger to my brothers, and an alien to my mother’s children; Because zeal for Your house has eaten me up, And the reproaches of those who reproach You have fallen on me.
Remember, O Lord, what has come upon us; Look, and behold our reproach!
Our inheritance has been turned over to aliens, And our houses to foreigners. We have become orphans and waifs, Our mothers are like widows.

And it came to pass, when Joshua was by Jericho, that he lifted his eyes and looked, and behold, a Man stood opposite him with His sword drawn in His hand. And Joshua went to Him and said to Him, “Are You for us or for our adversaries?”
So He said, “No, but as Commander of the army of the Lord I have now come.”
And Joshua fell on his face to the earth and worshiped, and said to Him, “What does my Lord say to His servant?”
For not even those who are circumcised keep the law, but they desire to have you circumcised that they may boast in your flesh.
Then the Commander of the Lord’s army said to Joshua, “Take your sandal off your foot, for the place where you stand is holy.” And Joshua did so.
Then Joshua circumcised their sons whom He raised up in their place; for they were uncircumcised, because they had not been circumcised on the way.And the descendants of the captivity kept the Passover on the fourteenth day of the first month.
And they slaughtered the Passover lamb for all the descendants of the captivity, for their brethren the priests, and for themselves.For the priests and the Levites had purified themselves; all of them were ritually clean.
In Him you were also circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, by putting off the body of the sins of the flesh, by the circumcision of Christ, buried with Him in baptism, in which you also were raised with Him through faith in the working of God, who raised Him from the dead. and by Him to reconcile all things to Himself, by Him, whether things on earth or things in heaven, having made peace through the blood of His cross.
But God forbid that I should boast except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world. For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision avails anything, but a new creation.
Gather to me all the elders of your tribes, and your officers, that I may speak these words in their hearing and call heaven and earth to witness against them. For I know that after my death you will become utterly corrupt, and turn aside from the way which I have commanded you. And evil will befall you in the latter days, because you will do evil in the sight of the Lord, to provoke Him to anger through the work of your hands.” before whose eyes Jesus Christ was clearly portrayed among you as crucified?
This only I want to learn from you:
Did you receive the Spirit by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith?
Are you so foolish? Having begun in the Spirit, are you now being made perfect by the flesh?
I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.

O Lord, I have heard Your speech and was afraid Lord, revive Your work in the midst of the years!
In the midst of the years make it known; In wrath remember mercy. The noise of a multitude in the mountains, Like that of many people!
A tumultuous noise of the kingdoms of nations gathered together!

You divided the earth with rivers.
Therefore he said to Judah, “Let us build these cities and make walls around them, and towers, gates, and bars, while the land is yet before us, because we have sought the Lord our God; we have sought Him, and He has given us rest on every side.” So they built and prospered. and had walked in the statutes of the nations whom the Lord had cast out from before the children of Israel, and of the kings of Israel, which they had made.

Beloved, I beg you as sojourners and pilgrims, abstain from fleshly lusts which war against the soul,
For we are aliens and pilgrims before You, As were all our fathers; Our days on earth are as a shadow, And without hope. The children of Ephraim, being armed and carrying bows, Turned back in the day of battle. They did not keep the covenant of God; They refused to walk in His law,

There is desirable treasure, And oil in the dwelling of the wise, But a foolish man squanders it
And Ekron shall be uprooted.
He spreads pointed marks in the mire. He dug many wells, He makes the deep boil like a pot; He makes the sea like a pot of ointment. Woe to the inhabitants of the seacoast, You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; You anoint my head with oil;
My cup runs over.
He leaves a shining wake behind him; For in her youth they had lain with her, Pressed her virgin bosom, And poured out their immorality upon her. And the house was filled with the fragrance of the oil.
But there were some who were indignant among themselves, and said, “Why was this fragrant oil wasted?
When my steps were bathed with cream, And the rock poured out rivers of oil for me!
“What shall I do for you?
For though you wash yourself with lye, and use much soap, Yet your iniquity is marked before Me,” says the Lord God.
Tell me, what do you have in the house?”
And she said, “Your maidservant has nothing in the house but a jar of oil.”

And she said, “Your maidservant has nothing in the house but a jar of oil.”
Then she came and told the man of God. And he said, “Go, sell the oil and pay your debt; and you and your sons live on the rest.”
And I thought to inform you, saying, ‘Buy it back in the presence of the inhabitants and the elders of my people. If you will redeem it, redeem it; but if you will not redeem it, then tell me, that I may know; for there is no one but you to redeem it, and I am next after you.’”
And he said, “I will redeem it.”
Then he said, “Go, borrow vessels from everywhere, from all your neighbors—empty vessels; do not gather just a few. And when you have come in, you shall shut the door behind you and your sons; then pour it into all those vessels, and set aside the full ones.”
So she went from him and shut the door behind her and her sons, who brought the vessels to her; and she poured it out.
Now it came to pass, when the vessels were full, that she said to her son, “Bring me another vessel.”
And he said to her, “There is not another vessel.” So the oil ceased.
he would then answer him, “No, but you must give it now; and if not, I will take it by force.”
But when His own people heard about this, they went out to lay hold of Him, for they said,
“He is out of His mind.”
Who calls for the waters of the sea, And pours them out on the face of the earth--
The Lord is His name.
Therefore the sin of the young men was very great before the Lord, for men abhorred the offering of the Lord.
What if God, wanting to show His wrath and to make His power known, endured with much longsuffering the vessels of wrath prepared for destruction, and that He might make known the riches of His glory on the vessels of mercy, which He had prepared beforehand for glory, even us whom He called, not of the Jews only, but also of the Gentiles?
He will bring forth justice for truth. He will not fail nor be discouraged, Till He has established justice in the earth; And the coastlands shall wait for His law.”
Thus says God the Lord, The coast shall be for the remnant of the house of Judah;
And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up,
He sent out arrows and scattered them; Lightning bolts, and He vanquished them. Then the channels of the sea were seen, The foundations of the world were uncovered, At the rebuke of the Lord, At the blast of the breath of His nostrils. “He sent from above, He took me, He drew me out of many waters.
And I thought to inform you, saying, ‘Buy it back in the presence of the inhabitants and the elders of my people. If you will redeem it, redeem it; but if you will not redeem it, then tell me, that I may know; for there is no one but you to redeem it, and I am next after you.’”

He will slay with the sword your daughter villages in the fields; he will heap up a siege mound against you, build a wall against you, and raise a defense against you. He will direct his battering rams against your walls, and with his axes he will break down your towers. Because of the abundance of his horses, their dust will cover you; your walls will shake at the noise of the horsemen, the wagons, and the chariots, when he enters your gates, as men enter a city that has been breached.

Your eyes will see the King in His beauty; They will see the land that is very far off. Your heart will meditate on terror:
“Where is the scribe?
Where is he who weighs?
Where is he who counts the towers?”
You will not see a fierce people, A people of obscure speech, beyond perception, Of a stammering tongue that you cannot understand.
“Those from Persia, Lydia, and Libya Were in your army as men of war; They hung shield and helmet in you; They gave splendor to you. Men of Arvad with your army were on your walls all around, And the men of Gammad were in your towers; They hung their shields on your walls all around;
They made your beauty perfect.
They gave you silver, iron, tin, and lead for your goods.
After three months we sailed in an Alexandrian ship whose figurehead was the Twin Brothers, Assyria founded it for wild beasts of the desert. They set up its towers, They raised up its palaces,
And brought it to ruin. Wail!
For your strength is laid waste.
‘The very dust of your city which clings to us we wipe off against you. Nevertheless know this, that the kingdom of God has come near you.’ And he shall cause the house to be scraped inside, all around, and the dust that they scrape off they shall pour out in an unclean place outside the city.
“Let us build these cities and make walls around them, and towers, gates, and bars, while the land is yet before us, because we have sought the Lord our God; we have sought Him, and He has given us rest on every side.” So they built and prospered. and at the corner buttress of the wall; Also he built towers in the desert, for he loved the soil.
“I will bring distress upon men, And they shall walk like blind men, Because they have sinned against the Lord; Their blood shall be poured out like dust, And their flesh like refuse.

You have caused men to ride over our heads;They flee away, they see no good. They pass by like swift ships, Like an eagle swooping on its prey. The common-land will shake at the sound of the cry of your pilots.
“Listen to Me, you who know righteousness, You people in whose heart is My law: Do not fear the reproach of men, Nor be afraid of their insults.

III. Tumor War
A brother offended is harder to win than a strong city,And contentions are like the bars of a castle.
A man’s stomach shall be satisfied from the fruit of his mouth;From the produce of his lips he shall be filled.
Death and life are in the power of the tongue,And those who love it will eat its fruit.
“I have heard the reproach of Moab, And the insults of the people of Ammon, With which they have reproached My people, ‘I will heap disasters on them;
“Behold, I will make you small among the nations; You shall be greatly despised.
You are cursed with a curse, For you have robbed Me, Even this whole nation.
Hell and Destruction are never full; So the eyes of man are never satisfied.
Woe to those who seek deep to hide their counsel far from the Lord, And their works are in the dark; They say, “Who sees us?” and, “Who knows us?”
The revolters are deeply involved in slaughter,
Though I rebuke them all. They eat up the sin of My people; They set their heart on their iniquity.
He devours the distance with fierceness and rage; Nor does he come to a halt because the trumpet has sounded. At the blast of the trumpet he says, ‘Aha!’
He smells the battle from afar, The thunder of captains and shouting.
They mount up to the heavens, They go down again to the depths;
..Their soul melts because of trouble. They reel to and fro, and stagger like a drunken man, And are at their wits’ end. Then they cry out to the Lord in their trouble, And He brings them out of their distresses.
“Does the hawk fly by your wisdom, And spread its wings toward the south?
Even the jackals present their breasts To nurse their young;
But the daughter of my people is cruel, Like ostriches in the wilderness. The tongue of the infant clings To the roof of its mouth for thirst;
‘Behold, I will stir up your lovers against you, From whom you have alienated yourself, And I will bring them against you from every side:
All the Assyrians with them, All of them desirable young men, Governors and rulers, Captains and men of renown, All of them riding on horses. And they shall come against you With chariots, wagons, and war-horses, With a horde of people.
They shall array against you Buckler, shield, and helmet all around. ‘I will delegate judgment to them, And they shall judge you according to their judgments.
The precious sons of Zion, valuable as fine gold, How they are regarded as clay pots, The work of the hands of the potter!

The days of punishment have come; The days of recompense have come. Israel knows!
The prophet is a fool,
The spiritual man is insane, Because of the greatness of your iniquity and great enmity.
And he said to his father, “My head, my head!” So he said to a servant, “Carry him to his mother.” Others were tortured, not accepting deliverance, that they might obtain a better resurrection.
For the morning is the same to them as the shadow of death; If someone recognizes them, They are in the terrors of the shadow of death.
Then the servants of the king of Syria said to him, “Their gods are gods of the hills.
Therefore they were stronger than we; but if we fight against them in the plain, surely we will be stronger than they. So do this thing:
Dismiss the kings, each from his position, and put captains in their places; and you shall muster an army like the army that you have lost, horse for horse and chariot for chariot. Then we will fight against them in the plain; surely we will be stronger than they.” And he listened to their voice and did so.
“For thus says the Lord God: ‘Surely I will deliver you into the hand of those you hate, into the hand of those from whom you alienated yourself. They will deal hatefully with you, take away all you have worked for, and leave you naked and bare. The nakedness of your harlotry shall be uncovered, both your lewdness and your harlotry. I will do these things to you because you have gone as a harlot after the Gentiles, because you have become defiled by their idols. You have walked in the way of your sister; therefore I will put her cup in your hand.’
“Thus says the Lord God:
‘You shall drink of your sister’s cup, The deep and wide one; You shall be laughed to scorn And held in derision; It contains much. You will be filled with drunkenness and sorrow, The cup of horror and desolation, The cup of your sister Samaria.
You shall drink and drain it, You shall break its shards, And tear at your own breasts; For I have spoken,’ Says the Lord God.
“Therefore thus says the Lord God:
‘Because you have forgotten Me and cast Me behind your back, Therefore you shall bear the penalty Of your lewdness and your harlotry.’”
It is better to hear the rebuke of the wise Than for a man to hear the song of fools. For like the crackling of thorns under a pot, So is the laughter of the fool.
This also is vanity.
Surely oppression destroys a wise man’s reason, And a bribe debases the heart.
And he said, “This will be the behavior of the king who will reign over you: He will take your sons and appoint them for his own chariots and to be his horsemen, and some will run before his chariots. And David said to Gad, “I am in great distress. Please let me fall into the hand of the Lord, for His mercies are very great; but do not let me fall into the hand of man.”
When I send against them the terrible arrows of famine which shall be for destruction, which I will send to destroy you, I will increase the famine upon you and cut off your supply of bread.
“Son of man, when a land sins against Me by persistent unfaithfulness, I will stretch out My hand against it; I will cut off its supply of bread, send famine on it, and cut off man and beast from it. For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be famines, pestilences, and earthquakes in various places.
The sword is outside, And the pestilence and famine within. Whoever is in the field Will die by the sword; And whoever is in the city, Famine and pestilence will devour him. an abomination to the Lord, the work of the hands of the craftsman, and sets it up in secret.’

For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be earthquakes in various places, and there will be famines and troubles. These are the beginnings of sorrows So I will send against you famine and wild beasts, and they will bereave you. Pestilence and blood shall pass through you, and I will bring the sword against you. I, the Lord, have spoken.’”
In vain you will use many medicines; you shall not be cured.
…There is no one to guide her Among all the sons she has brought forth; Nor is there any who takes her by the hand Among all the sons she has brought up.

Who will be sorry for you? --
Desolation and destruction, famine and sword--
By whom will I comfort you?
Even if these three men, Noah, Daniel, and Job, were in it, they would deliver only themselves by their righteousness,” says the Lord God.
We get our bread at the risk of our lives, Because of the sword in the wilderness. Our skin is hot as an oven, Because of the fever of famine. Their nobles have sent their lads for water; They went to the cisterns and found no water. The voice of nobles was hushed, And their tongue stuck to the roof of their mouth.
You shall buy food from them with money, that you may eat; and you shall also buy water from them with money, that you may drink. Their chargers charge ahead; The rich rules over the poor, And the borrower is servant to the lender. There were also some who said, “We have mortgaged our lands and vineyards and houses, that we might buy grain because of the famine.”
...But when he had spent all, he began to be in want.
You are filled with shame instead of glory. You also—drink! And be exposed as uncircumcised!
The cup of the Lord’s right hand will be turned against you, And utter shame will be on your glory.
“And it shall come to pass at that time That I will search Jerusalem with lamps, And punish the men Who are settled in complacency, Who say in their heart, ‘The Lord will not do good, Nor will He do evil. ‘
So the plenty will not be known in the land because of the famine following, for it will be very severe.
Therefore her plagues will come in one day—death and mourning and famine. And she will be utterly burned with fire, for strong is the Lord God who judges her.
In famine He shall redeem you from death, And in war from the power of the sword. One-third of you shall die of the pestilence, and be consumed with famine in your midst; and one-third shall fall by the sword all around you; and I will scatter another third to all the winds, and I will draw out a sword after them. All the Assyrians with them, All of them desirable young men.
I will set My jealousy against you, And they shall deal furiously with you; They shall remove your nose and your ears, And your remnant shall fall by the sword; They shall take your sons and your daughters, And your remnant shall be devoured by fire.
I will also give you into their hand, and they shall throw down your shrines and break down your high places. They shall also strip you of your clothes, take your beautiful jewelry, and leave you naked and bare. So that you will not lift your eyes to them, that in a great trial of affliction the abundance of their joy and their deep poverty abounded in the riches of their liberality. For I bear witness that according to their ability, yes, and beyond their ability, they were freely willing,
‘Thus I will make you cease your lewdness and your harlotry, for she lusted for her paramours, whose flesh is like the flesh of donkeys, and whose issue is like the issue of horses.Then I said concerning her who had grown old in adulteries, ‘Will they commit harlotry with her now, and she with them?’ Yet they went in to her, as men go in to a woman who plays the harlot?
Overthrown, overthrown, I will make it overthrown!
It shall be no longer, Until He comes whose right it is, And I will give it to Him.”’
“And you, son of man, prophesy and say,
‘Thus says the Lord God concerning the Ammonites and concerning their reproach,’ and say:
‘A sword, a sword is drawn, Polished for slaughter,
For consuming, for flashing— While they see false visions for you, While they divine a lie to you,
To bring you on the necks of the wicked, the slain,Whose day has come, Whose iniquity shall end.
You shall laugh at destruction and famine, And you shall not be afraid of the beasts of the earth.

“When there is famine in the land, pestilence or blight or mildew, locusts or grasshoppers; when their enemies besiege them in the land of their cities; whatever plague or whatever sickness there is; whatever prayer, whatever supplication is made by anyone, or by all Your people Israel, when each one knows his own burden and his own grief, and spreads out his hands to this temple: then hear from heaven Your dwelling place, and forgive, and give to everyone according to all his ways, whose heart You know (for You alone know the hearts of the sons of men),
And the people against whom the Lord will have indignation forever. Your eyes shall see, And you shall say,
“We have been impoverished, But we will return and build the desolate places,”
Thus says the Lord of hosts: “They may build, but I will throw down;
They shall be called the Territory of Wickedness,
‘The Lord is magnified beyond the border of Israel.’
All the men in your confederacy Shall force you to the border; The men at peace with you Shall deceive you and prevail against you. Those who eat your bread shall lay a trap for you. No one is aware of it.

Thus says the Lord of hosts: “They may build, but I will throw down;
They shall be called the Territory of Wickedness,
‘The Lord is magnified beyond the border of Israel.’
All the men in your confederacy Shall force you to the border; The men at peace with you Shall deceive you and prevail against you. Those who eat your bread shall lay a trap for you. No one is aware of it.
“Here we are, servants today!
And the land that You gave to our fathers, To eat its fruit and its bounty, Here we are, servants in it!
And it yields much increase to the kings You have set over us, Because of our sins;
Also they have dominion over our bodies and our cattle
At their pleasure; And we are in great distress. “And because of all this, We make a sure covenant and write it;
“But you profane it, In that you say, ‘The table of the Lord is defiled;
And its fruit, its food, is contemptible.’
You also say, ‘Oh, what a weariness!’
And you sneer at it,” Says the Lord of hosts.
“And you bring the stolen, the lame, and the sick; “You offer defiled food on My altar, But say, ‘In what way have we defiled You?’
By saying,
‘The table of the Lord is contemptible.’ And when you offer the blind as a sacrifice, Is it not evil?
And when you offer the lame and sick, Is it not evil?
Offer it then to your governor!
Would he be pleased with you? Would he accept you favorably?” Says the Lord of hosts.
Moreover Elihu answered and said: “Do you think this is right? Do you say, ‘My righteousness is more than God’s’? For you say, ‘What advantage will it be to You? What profit shall I have, more than if I had sinned?’ “I will answer you, And your companions with you.

“They should be swift on the face of the waters, Their portion should be cursed in the earth, So that no one would turn into the way of their vineyards. As drought and heat consume the snow waters, So the grave consumes those who have sinned.
Therefore the land will mourn; And everyone who dwells there will waste away With the beasts of the field And the birds of the air; Even the fish of the sea will be taken away. In that day I will make a covenant for them
With the beasts of the field, With the birds of the air, And with the creeping things of the ground.
Bow and sword of battle I will shatter from the earth,
To make them lie down safely.

The Spirit of God has made me, And the breath of the Almighty gives me life. Who among all these does not know That the hand of the Lord has done this, In whose hand is the life of every living thing, And the breath of all mankind?
Does not the ear test words And the mouth taste its food?
For what happens to the sons of men also happens to animals; one thing befalls them: as one dies, so dies the other. Surely, they all have one breath; man has no advantage over animals, for all is vanity.
Also He said to me, “Prophesy to the breath, prophesy, son of man, and say to the breath, ‘Thus says the Lord God: “Come from the four winds, O breath, and breathe on these slain, that they may live.”’”
My breath is offensive to my wife, And I am repulsive to the children of my own body.
And by the breath of His mouth he will go away. Let him not trust in futile things, deceiving himself,
For futility will be his reward.
Who gave Him charge over the earth?
Or who appointed Him over the whole world?
If He should set His heart on it, If He should gather to Himself His Spirit and His breath, All flesh would perish together, And man would return to dust.
If you sin, what do you accomplish against Him? Or, if your transgressions are multiplied, what do you do to Him?
If you are righteous, what do you give Him? Or what does He receive from your hand?
Your wickedness affects a man such as you, And your righteousness a son of man.
He will not allow me to catch my breath, But fills me with bitterness.
‘Thus says the Lord God: “Pound your fists and stamp your feet, and say, ‘Alas, for all the evil abominations of the house of Israel!
But He, Who gives breath to the people on it, And spirit to those who walk on it: being full of compassion, forgave their iniquity, And did not destroy them.Yes, many a time He turned His anger away, And did not stir up all His wrath; For He remembered that they were but flesh,
A breath that passes away and does not come again.How often they provoked Him in the wilderness, And grieved Him in the desert!
...Now it happened after these things that the son of the woman who owned the house became sick. And his sickness was so serious that there was no breath left in him.Do not put your trust in princes, Nor in a son of man, in whom there is no help.His spirit departs, he returns to his earth; In that very day his plans perish.
I said, ‘Age should speak, And multitude of years should teach wisdom. ‘But there is a spirit in man, And the breath of the Almighty gives him understanding. Great men are not always wise, Nor do the aged always understand justice. The trees of the Lord are full of sap, the cedars of Lebanon which He planted, Where the birds make their nests; The stork has her home in the fir trees. The lotus trees cover him with their shade; The willows by the brook surround him.
I made my works great, I built myself houses, and planted myself vineyards. I made myself gardens and orchards, and I planted all kinds of fruit trees in them. I made myself water pools from which to water the growing trees of the grove. and he made cedar trees as abundant as the sycamores which are in the lowland and even now the ax is laid to the root of the trees. And splintered the trees of their territory.
Your enemies roar in the midst of Your meeting place; They set up their banners for signs.
They seem like men who lift up Axes among the thick trees. And now they break down its carved work, all at once, With axes and hammers.
I have seen the wicked in great power, and spreading himself like a native green tree.
By your messengers you have reproached the Lord, and said:
"By the multitude of my chariots I have come up to the height of the mountains, To the limits of Lebanon; I will cut down its tall cedars and its choice cypress trees; I will enter the extremity of its borders, To its fruitful forest.
And say to the forest of the South, ‘Hear the word of the Lord! Thus says the Lord God: “Behold, I will kindle a fire in you, and it shall devour every green tree and every dry tree in you; the blazing flame shall not be quenched, and all faces from the south to the north shall be scorched by it. All flesh shall see that I, the Lord, have kindled it; it shall not be quenched.”’”
And it will consume the glory of his forest and of his fruitful field,
Both soul and body;
And they will be as when a sick man wastes away.
Then the rest of the trees of his forest
Will be so few in number That a child may write them.
And it shall come to pass in that day That the remnant of Israel,
And such as have escaped of the house of Jacob,Will never again depend on him who defeated them, But will depend on the Lord, the Holy One of Israel, in truth.
Then the trees of the woods shall rejoice before the Lord, For He is coming to judge the earth. My eye also has seen my desire on my enemies; My ears hear my desire on the wicked Who rise up against me. The righteous shall flourish like a palm tree, He shall grow like a cedar in Lebanon.
Those who are planted in the house of the Lord Shall flourish in the courts of our God. Let the heavens rejoice, and let the earth be glad; Let the sea roar, and all its fullness; Let the field be joyful, and all that is in it. Then all the trees of the woods will rejoice before the Lord.
For He is coming, for He is coming to judge the earth. He shall judge the world with righteousness, And the peoples with His truth.
Wait on the Lord, and keep His way, And He shall exalt you to inherit the land; When the wicked are cut off, you shall see it.
“For there is hope for a tree, if it is cut down, that it will sprout again, and that its tender shoots will not cease.
Though its root may grow old in the earth, and its stump may die in the ground, Yet at the scent of water it will bud and bring forth branches like a plant.
“Here is the man who did not make God his strength, but trusted in the abundance of his riches, and strengthened himself in his wickedness.”
Indeed the wages of the laborers who mowed your fields, which you kept back by fraud, cry out;
… ‘Why have you not built Me a house of cedar–’”’

Let the Lord God be a witness against you, The Lord from His holy temple. For behold, the Lord is coming out of His place; He will come down And tread on the high places of the earth.
The mountains will melt under Him, And the valleys will split Like wax before the fire, Like waters poured down a steep place. All this is for the transgression of Jacob And for the sins of the house of Israel.
What is the transgression of Jacob?

And what are the high places of Judah?

Thus says the Lord God:
“Behold, I will lift My hand in an oath to the nations,
And set up My standard for the peoples;
They shall bring your sons in their arms, And your daughters shall be carried on their shoulders;
‘The whole land is brimstone, salt, and burning; it is not sown, nor does it bear, nor does any grass grow there, like the overthrow of Sodom and Gomorrah, Admah, and Zeboiim, which the Lord overthrew in His anger and His wrath.’
“All nations would say, ‘Why has the Lord done so to this land? What does the heat of this great anger mean?’

For I considered all this in my heart, so that I could declare it all: that the righteous and the wise and their works are in the hand of God. People know neither love nor hatred by anything they see before them. Nevertheless I am continually with You; You hold me by my right hand.
“Now therefore, thus says the Lord, the God of hosts, the God of Israel: ‘Why do you commit this great evil against yourselves, to cut off from you man and woman, child and infant, out of Judah, leaving none to remain, ,A stubborn and rebellious generation, A generation that did not set its heart aright, And whose spirit was not faithful to God.
Stand fast therefore in the liberty by which Christ has made us free, and do not be entangled again with a yoke of bondage. Indeed I, Paul, say to you that if you become circumcised, Christ will profit you nothing. And I testify again to every man who becomes circumcised that he is a debtor to keep the whole law. You have become estranged from Christ, you who attempt to be justified by law; you have fallen from grace. For we through the Spirit eagerly wait for the hope of righteousness by faith. For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision avails anything, but faith working through love.
You ran well. Who hindered you from obeying the truth?
….This persuasion does not come from Him who calls you. A little leaven leavens the whole lump.
I have confidence in you, in the Lord, that you will have no other mind; but he who troubles you shall bear his judgment, whoever he is.
And I, brethren, if I still preach circumcision, why do I still suffer persecution?
Then the offense of the cross has ceased. I could wish that those who trouble you would even cut themselves off!
For you, brethren, have been called to liberty; only do not use liberty as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another.
For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this: “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.”
But if you bite and devour one another, beware lest you be consumed by one another!
…..Then the Lord said to me, “You have seen well, for I am ready to perform My word.”
And the word of the Lord came to me the second time, saying, “What do you see?”
And I said, “I see a boiling pot, and it is facing away from the north.”
Then the Lord said to me:
“Out of the north calamity shall break forth On all the inhabitants of the land. For behold, I am calling All the families of the kingdoms of the north,” says the Lord;
“Therefore prepare yourself and arise, And speak to them all that I command you.
Do not be dismayed before their faces, Lest I dismay you before them.
And utter a parable to the rebellious house, and say to them, ‘Thus says the Lord God:
“Put on a pot, set it on, And also pour water into it. Gather pieces of meat in it, Every good piece, The thigh and the shoulder.
Fill it with choice cuts; Take the choice of the flock.
Also pile fuel bones under it, Make it boil well, And let the cuts simmer in it.”
‘Therefore thus says the Lord God:
“Woe to the bloody city, To the pot whose scum is in it,
And whose scum is not gone from it!
Bring it out piece by piece, On which no lot has fallen. For her blood is in her midst; She set it on top of a rock;
She did not pour it on the ground, To cover it with dust.
That it may raise up fury and take vengeance, I have set her blood on top of a rock, That it may not be covered.” ‘Therefore thus says the Lord God:
“Woe to the bloody city! I too will make the pyre great.
Heap on the wood, Kindle the fire;
Cook the meat well, Mix in the spices, And let the cuts be burned up.
“Then set the pot empty on the coals, That it may become hot and its bronze may burn,
That its filthiness may be melted in it, That its scum may be consumed.
She has grown weary with lies,
And her great scum has not gone from her. Let her scum be in the fire!
In your filthiness is lewdness. Because I have cleansed you, and you were not cleansed,
You will not be cleansed of your filthiness anymore,
Till I have caused My fury to rest upon you.
I, the Lord, have spoken it;
It shall come to pass, and I will do it;
I will not hold back, Nor will I spare, Nor will I relent; According to your ways And according to your deeds They will judge you,”
Says the Lord God.’”

‘If disaster comes upon us—sword, judgment, pestilence, or famine—we will stand before this temple and in Your presence (for Your name is in this temple), and cry out to You in our affliction, and You will hear and save. ‘
Jonah 1:14,
Therefore they cried out to the Lord and said, “We pray, O Lord, please do not let us perish for this man’s life, and do not charge us with innocent blood; for You, O Lord, have done as it pleased You.”
Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap. For he who sows to his flesh will of the flesh reap corruption, but he who sows to the Spirit will of the Spirit reap everlasting life.
Galatians 6:7-8
...She has not trusted in the Lord,
……………Surely you have things turned around!
“Say now to her, ‘Look, you have been concerned for us with all this care. What can I do for you?
Do you want me to speak on your behalf to the king or to the commander of the army?’”
She answered, “I dwell among my own people.”
So he said, “What then is to be done for her?”
But the man of God said, “Let her alone; for her soul is in deep distress,
